The Winpisinger Center has announced the launch of its Online Steward Training program, set to begin on October 1. The training is designed for new shop stewards who are unable to attend in-person sessions at the center.

“This initiative is another step forward in expanding our members’ access to quality union education, no matter where they live or work,” said Winpisinger Center Director Mary McHugh.

The program will run over three consecutive weeks, with each session lasting two hours and covering two topics. Sessions are offered three times a week to accommodate varying schedules.

The first week will address the role of the steward and their rights and responsibilities. The second week will focus on grievances and investigations. The third week will cover just cause and discipline cases as well as contract cases and past practice.

All members in good standing who serve as stewards are eligible to participate in the online training. Registration can be completed through the provided link or by contacting the Winpisinger Center directly.
