A physician in Weimar is inviting residents to participate in the town’s first anniversary Walk with a Doc Texas event. The initiative encourages physicians to organize community walks, inviting patients, their families, and other community members to join. During the walk, Dr. Duchicela and other health care professionals will offer support and answer questions.

Walk with a Doc Texas operates under a national nonprofit organization that aims to promote physical activity and better health. In Texas, the program is supported by the Texas Medical Association (TMA).

Participation in the event is free and does not require preregistration. Information about future events will be available on this chapter’s Walk with a Doc website.

The TMA represents over 59,000 physicians and medical students statewide through its Austin headquarters and 110 county medical societies. Since its founding in 1853, TMA has focused on improving health for Texans. Funding for Walk with a Doc Texas in 2025 comes from the TMA Foundation, which receives support from TMA Insurance Trust as well as contributions from institutions, physicians, and their families.
