USAA has announced the appointment of Rob Arena as President of USAA Life Insurance Company, effective January 5, 2026. Arena brings over three decades of experience in life insurance, retirement solutions, and asset management.
Arena most recently served as co-president at Global Atlantic Financial Group, where he guided the company through significant growth and transformation over ten years. His previous roles include senior leadership positions at The Hartford and Prudential, focusing on retail product development, management, and distribution.
“Rob brings extensive expertise and a values-driven approach that will strengthen USAA’s ability to serve members with comprehensive life and retirement solutions that build financial security,” said USAA CEO Juan C. Andrade. “His proven leadership in strengthening businesses, empowering teams and driving innovation to help families improve their financial security, reflects the heart of our Mission. With Rob’s leadership, USAA Life Company will grow, evolve and deliver protection, advice and exceptional value to our members at every stage of their lives.”
Arena has been a member of USAA for more than 30 years. He joined after college when he purchased his first car. His father served as a Captain in the U.S. Army during the 1960s, instilling in him values such as service, integrity, and accountability.

In his new role, Arena is expected to maintain the commitment and expertise of the Life Company while seeking growth opportunities and expanding products tailored for members’ needs.
USAA was founded in 1922 by military officers and now serves 14 million U.S. military members, veterans who have honorably served, and their families. The company employs more than 38,000 people worldwide with headquarters in San Antonio.
