Texas Mutual Insurance Company has distributed more than $9 million in grants to 124 nonprofit organizations across Texas this year. The funding was provided through two Request for Proposal initiatives aimed at supporting generational learning and workforce development.

Applications for the grants were reviewed by Texas Mutual employee volunteers, who selected proposals that matched the company’s mission of strengthening communities across the state. The community affairs team also worked to ensure equitable distribution of funds throughout Texas.

The first grant cycle focused on generational learning, awarding over $4.5 million to 66 organizations. These grants targeted efforts to improve health and wellness for employees and their families, enhance early childhood education by supporting child care providers, and offer comprehensive support services alongside case management.

Among the recipients in Austin are the Andy Roddick Foundation, Any Baby Can, AVANCE-Austin, CASA of Travis County, Communities in Schools of Central Texas, EGBI, half Helen, and Saint Louise House.

The second grant cycle supported workforce development and safety training. Funding went to organizations providing safe work practices training—especially in higher-risk industries—creating pathways for middle-skill jobs, and offering upskilling opportunities through earn-and-learn programs.

Seven Austin-based nonprofits received support under this initiative: The Arc of the Capital Area, Austin Ed Fund, Easterseals Lonestar, Good Work Austin, Goodwill Central Texas, Literacy Coalition of Central Texas, and Skillpoint Alliance.

“We’re honored to be partnering with inspiring nonprofits in Austin and throughout the state to create a brighter future in the communities we call home,” said a representative from Texas Mutual Insurance Company.
