Texas Education Agency recognizes 26 schools as inaugural Lone Star Ribbon Schools

Twenty-six public schools in Texas have been named as the first recipients of the 2025 Lone Star Ribbon Schools award. The Texas Education Agency (TEA) announced the honorees, with Governor Greg Abbott recognizing their academic performance and efforts to close achievement gaps.

“These 26 schools represent the very best of Texas public education,” said Texas Education Commissioner Mike Morath. “This recognition reflects the hard work of our teachers, the perseverance of our students and the steadfast support of parents and communities. We applaud their achievement and thank Governor Abbott for recognizing and celebrating their success.”

The recognized schools are located across urban, suburban, and rural areas, showing that high academic achievement is possible throughout the state.

The following schools were honored as 2025 Lone Star Ribbon Schools:
