The Texas Department of Insurance (TDI) has released guidance for consumers looking to purchase health insurance plans during the upcoming open enrollment period. Open enrollment for plans available on HealthCare.gov will begin on November 1 and run through January 15.

TDI recommends that individuals use its Health plan shopping checklist, which provides questions to consider when selecting a health plan that matches both needs and budget. The department also encourages those with insurance-related questions to contact TDI by phone at 800-252-3439 or visit their website at www.tdi.texas.gov.

“Use TDI’s Health plan shopping checklist for questions to ask when buying a health plan,” the agency stated in its announcement.

For more information about available resources and assistance, TDI directs consumers to its official site.
