The Texas Commission on Environmental Quality (TCEQ) approved penalties amounting to $710,923 against 23 entities for violations of state environmental regulations, according to a statement released yesterday. The enforcement actions covered various categories, including air quality, industrial and municipal wastewater discharge, multi-media cases, municipal solid waste, petroleum storage tanks, and public water systems.
Among the agreed orders issued were nine related to air quality, two concerning industrial wastewater discharge, two involving multiple media types, one regarding municipal solid waste, three tied to municipal wastewater discharge, three involving petroleum storage tanks, and one pertaining to a public water system. Default orders included one for municipal solid waste and another for municipal wastewater discharge.
Additionally, on October 28 and November 4 of this year, the executive director approved further penalties totaling $164,737 against 52 other entities.
