TCEQ approves over $837K in fines for environmental regulation violations

The Texas Commission on Environmental Quality (TCEQ) has approved penalties totaling $730,403 against 28 regulated entities for violations of state environmental regulations. The enforcement actions include agreed orders for six air quality cases, one related to the Edwards Aquifer, three industrial wastewater discharges, one multi-media case, two municipal wastewater discharges, one petroleum storage tank issue, eight public water systems violations, and one water quality case.

Additionally, default orders were issued in several categories: two multi-media cases, one municipal wastewater discharge case, and two public water systems cases.

The TCEQ executive director also approved penalties amounting to $107,083 against 31 entities on September 16 and September 23.
