TCEQ approves over $2.8 million in fines for environmental violations

The Texas Commission on Environmental Quality (TCEQ) has approved penalties totaling $2,360,925 against 25 regulated entities for violations of state environmental regulations. The fines were announced following the commission’s meeting held on September 10.

The enforcement actions resulted in agreed orders covering several categories. These include nine cases related to air quality, one involving industrial hazardous waste, one for industrial wastewater discharge, two multi-media cases, one municipal solid waste case, one municipal wastewater discharge case, two petroleum storage tank cases, six public water systems cases, and two water quality cases.

Additionally, the TCEQ executive director approved penalties amounting to $448,340 against 118 entities on August 26 and September 9.
