Several new hotels have opened in San Antonio, adding more options for visitors seeking luxury accommodations. The InterContinental San Antonio Riverwalk began welcoming guests in 2024. Located near the Henry B. GonzĂ¡lez Convention Center and major dining and nightlife areas, the hotel offers a variety of guest rooms and suites, a rooftop pool, spa services, and a fitness center. Dining options include an American brasserie called Cavalier, Deco Bar, Rosebelly Coffee, and High Praise rooftop bar.

The Kimpton Santo San Antonio Riverwalk also opened in 2024. The property includes part of a renovated 19th-century schoolhouse with historic suites featuring limestone walls and private balconies. Guests can dine at Dean’s Steak & Seafood or visit Tenfold, the rooftop bar that offers city views and a menu inspired by global cuisines. The hotel features Bauhaus-inspired design elements in its new tower section.

The Plaza San Antonio Hotel & Spa completed a major renovation in 2024. The property consists of three preserved buildings from the 19th century listed on the National Register of Historic Places. The hotel received Marriott’s 2024 Renovation Excellence Award after updating its 253 rooms and adding amenities such as Anaqua bar, Corinne restaurant, and a luxury spa.

Looking ahead to spring 2026, The Monarch is expected to open as part of Hilton’s Curio Collection. Inspired by the monarch butterfly, this hotel will feature an atrium-style lobby connected to the Hemisfair expansion project.

“Welcome to Kimpton Santo Hotel. Once a 19th-century schoolhouse, we’ve kept the historic charm and blended it with modern elegance throughout the hotel, including adding the tallest open-air rooftop in downtown San Antonio. Now open,” according to Kimpton by IHG.
