San Antonio is preparing for a busy Halloween season in 2025, with a range of events aimed at adults. Several major attractions and local businesses are offering themed experiences, from haunted houses and ghost tours to wine dinners and after-hours museum parties.
Six Flags Fiesta Texas will host Fright Fest on select nights from September 6 to November 2. The event features haunted mazes such as Hexenhaus, Nosferatu, and SAW: Legacy of Terror, along with scare zones like Carnival of Terrors and Hell Valley Cemetery. Visitors can also attend live shows including Monster Mash Bash and Crossroads, and ride roller coasters after dark.
SeaWorld San Antonio’s Howl-O-Scream runs on select days between September 12 and November 1. It includes six haunted houses, eight scare zones, live entertainment, and stage shows like Monster Stomp and Sirens Song. The event offers a reception called Till Death Do Us Party for adults seeking themed cocktails and music.
For those interested in food and wine, the St. Anthony Hotel will hold the Sinister Sips Masquerade Wine Dinner on October 30 for guests aged 21 and over. The evening features a four-course meal by Chef Leo Davila alongside Orin Swift wines.
The San Pedro Playhouse will mark the 50th anniversary of The Rocky Horror Picture Show with two screenings on October 31 for attendees aged 18 or older. Activities include a costume contest, themed lobby events, food trucks, and a full bar.
Haunted pub crawls remain popular options throughout the city. Sisters Grimm Ghost Bus offers a haunted pub crawl through various bars on select weekends until November 1 for those aged 21+. Sisters Grimm also hosts a Halloween Tea Party & Cemetery Tour from October 17-28 that combines high tea with a candlelit cemetery tour.
Bad Wolf Ghost Tours provides what it describes as San Antonio’s first haunted pub crawl on Friday and Saturday evenings for guests over 21. Nightly Spirits’ Booze and Boos Tour operates year-round with costumed guides leading participants to downtown bars while sharing local ghost stories.
RJA Ghost Tours continues its nightly walking tours at 9:00 PM departing from Crockett Tavern, focusing on historic sites reputed to be haunted.
On October 30, The DoSeum children’s museum opens its doors exclusively to adults for Adult Nite: Halloween at The DoSeum. This event includes trick-or-treating for adults, live music, food vendors, drinks, and a costume contest.
Organizers recommend purchasing tickets in advance for most events due to high demand during the Halloween season. Haunted pub crawls require participants to be at least 21 years old because they involve stops at bars serving alcohol.
A variety of experiences are available depending on preference—some designed for maximum scares at theme parks like SeaWorld or Six Flags Fiesta Texas; others offer festive activities without intense fright such as cocktail parties or interactive film screenings.
