As Halloween approaches, San Antonio becomes a center for ghost tours that explore the city’s haunted history. Several tour operators offer experiences for both families and adults interested in the paranormal.

Sisters Grimm Ghost Tours provides multiple options. The Ghost Bus Tour takes participants to locations such as the Menger Hotel and a historic cemetery, with tours lasting about two and a half hours and suitable for ages 13 and up. The Haunted History Ghost Walk is designed for all ages, offering a one-and-a-half-hour walk through downtown sites with stories of San Antonio’s past. For those over 21, the Haunted Pub Crawl mixes local ghost tales with visits to area pubs.

Bad Wolf Ghost Tours also offers several experiences. Their San Antonio Ghost Walk explores some of the city’s oldest sites, including the Alamo and River Walk, while their Haunted Pub Crawl focuses on historic bars said to be haunted. Another option is the Haunted Dinner Tour at Emily Morgan Hotel, which includes a three-course meal accompanied by stories of hauntings at what is considered one of the world’s most haunted hotels. Bad Wolf also has a Reading Room where guests can receive tarot readings or palm readings.

Nightly Spirits features guided pub crawls like the Booze and Boos Tour, which visits some of San Antonio’s reportedly haunted bars and buildings. They also offer private tours for groups, including family-friendly options covering more spooky landmarks around the city.

RJA Ghost Tours distinguishes itself by being led by Certified Paranormal Investigators. Their Downtown San Antonio Ghost Walk takes place nightly at 9 PM and covers various locations associated with chilling histories and ghost stories.

Tour durations vary from about an hour and a half for walking tours to two-and-a-half hours for bus or pub crawl tours. Family-friendly options are available from several providers, focusing on storytelling without alcohol-related stops.

According to local recommendations, Sisters Grimm’s Haunted History Walk and RJA Ghost Tours’ all-ages walk are best suited for families. Adults may prefer pub crawls offered by Sisters Grimm, Bad Wolf, or Nightly Spirits. For those seeking unique experiences or intense encounters with reported paranormal activity, Bad Wolf’s dinner event at Emily Morgan Hotel or RJA Ghost Tours led by certified investigators are highlighted choices.

Booking in advance is advised during October due to high demand near Halloween.

For visitors interested in cultural celebrations beyond ghost tours during fall in San Antonio, additional events are available throughout the season.
