San Antonio highlights concerts, parades, festivals in lineup for visitors this November

San Antonio is preparing for a busy November, offering a range of events that highlight the city’s cultural, culinary, and outdoor attractions. The transition from fall to the holiday season brings both long-standing traditions and new experiences for residents and visitors.

Several concerts and shows are scheduled throughout the month. On November 5, Countess Luann de Lesseps will perform at the Tobin Center for the Performing Arts. The Japanese Tea Garden will host live jazz performances on November 7 and 20. The Sixties Show will bring music from the 1960s to the Tobin Center on November 16. Families can attend Disney’s Frozen at San Pedro Playhouse from November 21 through December 23, as well as A Charlie Brown Christmas at Magik Theatre between November 22 and December 24.

The Ford Holiday River Parade returns for its 44th year on November 28. The parade begins at the Tobin Center at 6 p.m., with a live broadcast from Arneson River Theatre starting at 7:05 p.m. This event marks the start of San Antonio’s holiday celebrations.

San Antonio will also honor veterans in early November. SA Veterans Day takes place at Hemisfair on November 8 with live entertainment and family activities. SeaWorld San Antonio hosts Veterans Appreciation Weekend from November 6 to 9, featuring daily flag ceremonies.

Culinary festivals include Turkish Brunches at Ladino every weekend through December 21 and Vino Fest: A Celebration of Mexican Wine Culture at La Villita – Plaza Juarez on November 15. The St. Anthony Hotel offers a Sunday Jazz Brunch through December with live music by Henry Brun.

Cultural events are prominent this month. The Yanaguana Indian Arts Festival occurs on November 8 at the Briscoe Western Art Museum, showcasing Native American traditions through art demonstrations and performances. That same day, SAAACAM offers its Green Book Civil Rights Bus Tour exploring historic African American sites in San Antonio’s Eastside neighborhoods. On November 22, SAAACAM will host a Black History River Boat Tour along the River Walk. Visitors can also view “Going to Texas 2025: Five Centuries of Texas Maps” at Briscoe Western Art Museum until January next year.

Outdoor activities include Race The River—a nighttime paddling race—on November 7 along downtown waterways organized by the San Antonio River Authority, as well as weekly Yoga Under the Stars sessions every Thursday in Pearl Plaza during November.

Many of these events are free to attend, such as Yoga Under the Stars, SA Veterans Day celebrations, and cultural festivals like Yanaguana Indian Arts Festival.

The city expects mild weather in November with daytime highs around 72°F (22°C) and cooler evenings near 50°F (10°C), making it suitable for outdoor gatherings and festivals.

According to Visit San Antonio Inc., “November in San Antonio features a diverse lineup of events including the Ford Holiday River Parade, the Yanaguana Indian Arts Festival, Veterans Day celebrations at Hemisfair, and culinary experiences like the Turkish Brunch at Ladino and Vino Fest at La Villita. Visitors can also enjoy live performances at the Tobin Center and family favorites like Disney’s Frozen and A Charlie Brown Christmas.”

Visit San Antonio Inc. also notes that many free activities are available: “Yes. Many San Antonio events in November are free to attend, such as the Yanaguana Indian Arts Festival at the Briscoe Western Art Museum, SA Veterans Day at Hemisfair, and Yoga Under the Stars at Pearl.”

For those interested in seasonal displays: “You can enjoy both fall festivals and early holiday light displays throughout San Antonio. The Ford Holiday River Parade officially kicks off the city’s holiday season with over 100,000 lights along the River Walk…”
