Governor Greg Abbott has announced that a runoff election for the Texas Senate District 9 seat will take place on Saturday, January 31, 2026. The seat became vacant following the departure of former Senator Kelly Hancock.

Early voting for this runoff is scheduled to start on Wednesday, January 21, 2026.
