Rackspace Technology has obtained the VMware Sovereign Cloud certification for its Rackspace Sovereign Services, a fully managed private cloud platform. This service is designed for organizations that need strict control over data location and processing, and it operates from UK-based data centers using VMware technologies.

Rick Martire, general manager of Rackspace Sovereign Services, stated: “With Rackspace’s digital Sovereign Cloud, organisations can optimise private cloud architecture to ensure mission-critical applications deliver predictable performance, enhanced security, and operational reliability.” He added, “This is a major milestone supporting the UK Public Sector and further affirms our commitment to regulated industry clouds.”

The VMware Sovereign Cloud certification is given to VMware Cloud Service Providers who meet requirements ensuring full data sovereignty and jurisdictional control within a country or region. The certification confirms that partners keep data under local control, comply with national privacy and security regulations, and use data centers managed by local entities.

Rackspace collaborates with public sector bodies in the UK as well as financial services firms and healthcare providers. The company offers solutions that integrate cloud infrastructure with managed services and security operations.

According to the company, Rackspace Technology specializes in hybrid cloud and AI solutions across all major technology platforms. It works with customers throughout their cloud journey to modernize applications, develop new products, and adopt emerging technologies.

The company noted that forward-looking statements are subject to risks and uncertainties which may cause actual results to differ. Rackspace Technology does not commit to updating these statements.
