Rackspace Technology has partnered with Hungry Jack’s to upgrade the fast-food chain’s digital infrastructure using Microsoft Azure. The collaboration involved Rackspace’s Elastic Engineering team working with Hungry Jack’s to design and implement an enterprise-grade Azure landing zone through infrastructure as code (IaC). This new setup aims to provide a secure, compliant, and automated base for digital services such as mobile applications and loyalty programs, allowing for faster feature delivery, improved scalability, and lower costs.

Chad Capiz, Digital Technology Lead at Hungry Jack’s, said, “Rackspace has been proactive from day one, constantly pushing us to improve, not just waiting for us to ask. We now have the ability to spin up environments as needed — fast, repeatable, and reliable. That’s a game-changer for us.”

Hungry Jack’s previously faced challenges with its legacy app infrastructure that could not keep up with growing customer demands. By modernizing its architecture in partnership with Rackspace Technology, the company gained more control and agility over its digital operations.

The project included building a CI/CD-enabled Azure landing zone that supports faster release cycles and integrates DevSecOps practices for security in every deployment. Infrastructure provisioning and patching were automated to reduce manual errors and increase uptime. Cost optimization measures were also implemented by leveraging Azure’s pay-as-you-go model. Rackspace transferred essential knowledge to Hungry Jack’s internal and offshore teams to support operational maturity.

The results of this modernization include reduced release times due to automated deployments, better platform stability across customer-facing applications, enhanced security through continuous compliance and automated patching, and lower infrastructure costs. The new foundation is designed to support future digital initiatives.

Adhil Badat, Managing Director for APJ at Rackspace Technology stated: “Hungry Jack’s has been a fantastic long-term partner and a perfect example of what real collaboration can achieve. We’ve worked hand-in-hand to build a modern Azure setup that gives them the agility, speed, and security they need to engage customers at scale. We’re thrilled to be their innovation partner and help them keep evolving to deliver standout digital experiences.”
