iHeartPodcasts has announced the launch of a new podcast series, “An Unlikely Affair,” which will be the first show to debut under Lala Kent’s expanded podcast slate with iHeart. The series is scheduled to premiere on January 8, 2026. An official trailer for the show is currently available.
The podcast will be co-hosted by Lala Kent, known as a reality TV star and entrepreneur, and Ambyr Childers, an actress recognized for her roles in “You” and “Ray Donovan.” This collaboration follows Childers’ appearance on Kent’s earlier podcast, “Untraditionally Lala.” According to iHeartPodcasts, “An Unlikely Affair” will be part of the Popworthy lineup.
The format of the show centers on discussions about the experiences of single mothers. Kent and Childers draw from their personal histories, having previously been adversaries due to sharing the same ex-partner. The two have since reconciled and formed what they describe as an honest friendship.
Each episode will focus on navigating life changes, managing parental guilt while maintaining personal identity, and addressing dating and relationships after major transitions. The co-hosts intend to share how they moved past negativity in their lives. As stated in the announcement: “Together, they explore how to navigate major transitions, manage mom guilt while reclaiming their identities, and approach dating and sex in their next chapter. The cohosts share how they reclaimed their happiness and hope their journey inspires listeners to let go of toxicity and rewrite their own narratives.”
Kent’s original podcast, “Untraditionally Lala,” will continue with weekly episodes every Wednesday along with bonus content on Mondays.
“An Unlikely Affair” will be distributed by iHeartPodcasts within its Popworthy collection, which features content focused on popular culture and nostalgia. Episodes can be accessed through the iHeartRadio app or other major podcast platforms.
