iHeartPodcasts and Novel have announced the launch of a new eight-part podcast series titled “The Girlfriends: Untouchable.” The series, which will be available on all major podcast platforms starting November 17, 2025, tells the story of a group of women who joined forces to expose police abuse and corruption in Kansas City, Kansas.

Hosted by Nikki Richardson and featuring Khadijah Hardaway and Niko Quinn, this season follows the case of Detective Roger Golubski. According to the announcement, Golubski allegedly targeted, threatened, and sexually abused Black women in the community for decades. The narrative centers on how these women worked together to bring attention to his actions after Niko Quinn witnessed her cousin’s murder.

“The Girlfriends: Untouchable” is co-produced by Novel and iHeartPodcasts. Rufaro Mazarura serves as producer with Jo Wheeler as editor. Executive producers include Max O’Brien and Craig Strachan for Novel, while Katrina Norvell and Nikki Ettore serve as executive producers for iHeartPodcasts. The series features original music by Emmy Award-winning composer Amanda Jones.

Nikki Richardson was born in Wyandotte County and co-founded Justice for Wyandotte in 2020. She also produced The 7th Street Podcast, contributing to efforts exposing the Golubski case. Khadijah Hardaway is also a co-founder of Justice for Wyandotte and committee chair of the Commission on Social Justice for Grant Chapel AME Church in Kansas City, Kansas.

Episodes will be released weekly on Mondays.

Novel has previously produced several award-winning podcasts including “The Girlfriends,” which won the Ambie for Best True Crime Podcast in 2024, as well as “Kill List,” recipient of multiple journalism awards such as the Edward R Murrow Award for Journalism and Podcast of the Year at both the British Podcast Awards and True Crime Awards 2025.

“The Girlfriends” franchise is distributed by iHeartPodcasts.
