iHeartMedia launches new women’s sports podcast with Cari Champion and Jemele Hill

iHeartMedia’s iHeart Women’s Sports has announced the launch of a new original podcast, “Flagrant and Funny,” which will be hosted by Cari Champion and Jemele Hill. The podcast aims to discuss current topics in women’s sports, culture, and related subjects. New episodes will be released every Monday, Wednesday, and Friday on the iHeartRadio app and other podcast platforms.

Cari Champion is known for her work as a broadcast journalist and television personality. She previously hosted “The Cari Champion Show” on Amazon and has contributed to CNN, including hosting the network’s New Year’s celebration. Champion is also active in mentoring women of color in sports broadcasting through her foundation, Brown Girls Dream.

Jemele Hill is an Emmy Award–winning journalist who has worked at ESPN as a columnist, anchor, and co-host. She is also an author whose memoir was published in 2022. Hill graduated from Michigan State University in 1997.

iHeart Women’s Sports was founded in 2024 by iHeartMedia and Deep Blue Sports + Entertainment. In its first year, it increased coverage of women’s sports from less than one percent to over 34 percent by 2025, reaching approximately 89 million monthly listeners across nearly 500 radio stations. The platform has focused on fair representation by ensuring that half of all newly produced sports podcasts cover women’s sports content.
