iHeartMedia and The Black Effect Podcast Network, led by Charlamagne Tha God, have announced the launch of “Adventures of Curiosity Cove,” a new podcast series for children and families. The show, created and produced by actress Tika Sumpter, will be available on the network starting November 5. Listeners can access previous episodes and the trailer for the upcoming season now.

The podcast centers on storytelling that combines curiosity with lessons in social and emotional intelligence. Each episode follows “Ella the Curious” as she embarks on different adventures, such as exploring space or learning about self-worth. The series is inspired by Sumpter’s book “I Got It From My Mama,” which tells the story of Ella, a young girl who looks up to her mother.

Dollie S. Bishop, President of The Black Effect Podcast Network, said: “We’re excited to launch this children’s program centered on social and emotional learning. Our kids deserve to see themselves reflected in stories that celebrate their culture while helping them understand and express their feelings in a healthy way. This partnership between Tika and The Black Effect Podcast Network is an investment in the emotional well-being and confidence of the next generation.”

Sumpter is also known for founding Yummy Tummy, a skincare line aimed at mothers from pregnancy through postpartum. She has an upcoming romantic comedy film titled ‘Sisters In Italy’ with Tyler Perry for Amazon MGM Studios, where she serves as co-writer, co-producer, and star.

Commenting on the partnership, Sumpter said: “We’re thrilled to partner with The Black Effect and iHeartRadio to bring ‘Adventures of Curiosity Cove’ to more families. As the first kids’ podcast under their banner, Nick and I wanted to create a space where children can explore big feelings through fun, imaginative stories and where parents can listen right alongside them. Our goal has always been to spark curiosity, emotional intelligence, and connection between kids and the grown-ups who love them.”

“Adventures of Curiosity Cove” will be distributed by iHeartPodcasts across major platforms including the iHeartRadio app.

The Black Effect Podcast Network was founded through a joint venture between Charlamagne Tha God and iHeartMedia to amplify voices in Black culture across various fields including education, entertainment, politics, sports, and pop culture.
