The International Association of Machinists and Aerospace Workers (IAM) recently held its 2025 Joint Air Transport Safety Committee (JATSC) Conference at the William W. Winpisinger Center in Hollywood, Maryland. The event brought together union members to discuss safety programs and initiatives relevant to the air transport sector.

The committee emphasized the importance of collaborative safety efforts, such as the Ground Safety Action Program. Participants also focused on strategies for injury prevention and hazard mitigation, as well as the need for ongoing training and education. The conference advocated for strong systems that encourage workers to report safety concerns.

Throughout the conference, daily video summaries were produced to cover key sessions. These included presentations addressing the dangers of distracted driving and workplace challenges related to carelessness and complacency.
