The International Association of Machinists and Aerospace Workers (IAM) Women’s & Young Workers Department has opened registration for two upcoming leadership programs aimed at supporting women in the union. The Women’s Leadership Program will take place from March 1 to March 6, 2026, while the Advanced Women’s Leadership Program is scheduled for March 15 to March 20, 2026. Both events will be held at the William W. Winpisinger Education and Technology Center in Hollywood, Maryland.

According to IAM, the Women’s Leadership Program is intended to encourage women members to become more active within their locals and districts. It focuses on building skills such as organizing, parliamentary procedure, political and legislative involvement, strategic planning, and network development.

The Advanced Women’s Leadership Program is available for those who have completed the initial program. This course expands on previous learning by further developing critical leadership skills in similar areas.

IAM stated that these programs are designed to provide participants with “the tools and confidence needed to lead effectively at every level of the union and to strengthen solidarity across our membership.”

Registration for the Women’s Leadership Program closes on January 21, 2026. The deadline for the Advanced Women’s Leadership Program is February 11, 2026. Details about tuition, transportation, curriculum, and registration procedures can be found in the official call letter distributed by IAM.

Members interested in participating or seeking additional information are encouraged to contact the IAM Women’s & Young Workers Department at 301-967-4747. IAM also urges eligible members to consider this educational opportunity as a way to help build a stronger and more inclusive organization.
