The International Association of Machinists and Aerospace Workers (IAM) is inviting locals and districts to honor members who have died due to work-related causes by purchasing personalized bricks for the IAM Workers Memorial. The memorial is located at the William W. Winpisinger Education and Technology Center in Hollywood, Maryland.

The deadline to order personalized bricks for this year’s observance is Sunday, March 1, 2026. According to IAM, “Every year, we observe Workers’ Memorial Day to honor the memory of workers who have been killed, injured, or made ill due to their work. As part of this observance, your Local or District can pay tribute to a fallen member by adding a personalized brick to the IAM Workers Memorial at the William W. Winpisinger Education and Technology Center in Hollywood, Md.”

Bricks are available in several options: For $100, a brick with three lines of text (up to 20 characters per line) without a logo; for $125, a brick with three lines (up to 15 characters per line) including the IAM logo; an 8×8 brick for $200 allows six lines of text without a logo or five lines with either the IAM logo or another preferred logo (up to 20 characters per line). Supporters can also purchase commemorative tiles for $10.

IAM states that if a local has lost a member due to workplace causes, “a complimentary brick will be placed in their honor.” Requests for complimentary bricks require submission of an order form.

The memorial was completed in 2001 and features bricks bearing names of fallen members as well as contributions from lodges and individual IAM members. Each year, a ceremony takes place at the site “to remember the workers we’ve lost and renew our commitment to preventing workplace injuries and fatalities.” The date for this year’s event will be announced soon.

To see specific details about pricing or place an order for personalized bricks or tiles, interested parties are directed by IAM to use this form.
