IAM Union members working as air traffic controllers are getting ready for contract negotiations with Leidos, a government contractor. Mark Costa, who is part of the IAM negotiations team and represents Local 2010 in Reston, Virginia, described his work as a flight service specialist. He said his job involves providing important weather and safety information to pilots.

Costa noted that both Local 2010 and Local 2011 from Fort Worth, Texas, are involved in these upcoming talks with Leidos.

“There is a lot of responsibility in our roles because pilots rely on us for accurate and timely updates,” Costa said. “Our goal in these negotiations is to make sure our members’ needs are addressed while continuing to provide high-quality service.”

The IAM union represents workers across various sectors, including those who support aviation safety by delivering essential information to pilots.
