Governor Greg Abbott has announced that a special election for Texas Senate District 4 will take place on Saturday, May 2, 2026. The seat was vacated by Senator Brandon Creighton.

Individuals interested in running for the position must submit their applications to the Secretary of State by 5:00 PM on Tuesday, March 3, 2026. Early voting is scheduled to begin on Monday, April 20, 2026.

The Governor’s office has released a proclamation regarding the special election.
