Governor Greg Abbott has designated October 3-10, 2025 as Manufacturing Week in Texas, highlighting the impact of the state’s manufacturing sector on economic growth and job creation.
“Thanks to our manufacturers, ‘Made in Texas’ has never been a more powerful brand,” Governor Abbott said. “It is a symbol of freedom, opportunity, and innovation that can only be found in Texas. As the manufacturing capital of the nation, Texas is where today’s products are made, and tomorrow’s technologies are brought to life. Manufacturing Week reminds us how important it is to continue strengthening our workforce by providing new career opportunities for Texans as we build a bigger and better Texas.”
Texas manufacturers contribute significantly to the state’s economy, which now exceeds $2.7 trillion and ranks as the eighth largest globally. The state recently recorded an economic expansion rate of 6.8% in the second quarter of 2025. For 23 consecutive years, Texas has led all states in exports and remains the top exporter of high-tech goods and semiconductors.
Governor Abbott also acknowledged recent developments in pharmaceutical manufacturing within Texas. Last week he attended an event marking Lilly’s announcement of a new active pharmaceutical ingredient production facility in Harris County.
Manufacturing Week aims to draw attention to career opportunities available across multiple industries including aerospace, pharmaceuticals, biotech, and automotive.
