Governor Greg Abbott has designated October 13-17, 2025, as Chamber of Commerce Week in Texas. The proclamation highlights the contribution of chambers of commerce to local communities and the state’s economy.
“Texas’ thriving entrepreneurial spirit is the driving force behind our state’s economic success,” Governor Abbott said. “A vital component of the Texas economy, chambers of commerce significantly impact Texas workers and small business owners by connecting people with valuable resources, fostering business growth and expansion, and enhancing workforce development opportunities. The important work of these chambers strengthens local businesses of all sizes and helps build a bigger, better Texas.”
There are over 3.5 million small businesses in Texas, which make up almost all businesses in the state and employ nearly half its workforce. Chambers of commerce provide support for these businesses through efforts that promote growth, expansion, and innovation. These activities help maintain Texas’ status as a leading economic state.
Earlier this year, Governor Abbott marked Texas’ achievement in winning the Governor’s Cup for the thirteenth consecutive year. The award from Site Selection recognizes states with high levels of job-creating business relocations and expansions.
