Governor Greg Abbott spoke at the Texas Association of Business (TAB) Summit, focusing on the state’s economic growth and its role in shaping America’s future economy. The event, titled “Texas Dynamism and the Next Economic Frontier,” featured a fireside chat moderated by TAB President and CEO Glenn Hamer.
“Texas is the blueprint for America’s future economic success,” said Governor Abbott. “We are leading America as the headquarters of headquarters, are the No. 1 state for job creation, and have no state income tax. We will ensure the freedom and opportunity that Texas has always offered will remain the beacon that draws people from all over the world to our great state.”
Governor Abbott discussed how Texas’s regulatory environment, absence of a state income tax, and its young and diverse workforce contribute to its strong economy. He also pointed out recent major investments by technology and artificial intelligence companies in Texas. Last week, he joined Google to announce a $40 billion investment in Texas as part of Google’s national expansion efforts.
During his remarks, Governor Abbott thanked TAB for bringing together business leaders, innovators, and policymakers to support growth and innovation across the state. At the summit, he received the TAB Champion for Capitalism Award in recognition of his work to maintain Texas’s status as a leader in economic development.
Other participants at the event included San Antonio Port CEO Jim Perschbach, Representative John Lujan, along with various business leaders and state officials.
Additional photos from the summit are expected to be released soon.
