Governor Greg Abbott has appointed Wynn Rosser, Ph.D., to the Southern Regional Education Board (SREB) for a term ending June 30, 2029. The SREB collaborates with states to enhance public education across all levels, from early childhood through doctoral programs. Established in 1948 as the nation’s first regional interstate compact for education, the board was created by southern governors and legislators who identified a connection between education and economic development.

Wynn Rosser currently serves as Commissioner of Higher Education and chief executive officer of the Texas Higher Education Coordinating Board. He is affiliated with the National Association of Emergency Medical Technicians and the State Higher Education Executive Officer Association. His educational background includes an associate degree from Kilgore College, a Bachelor of Science in Agriculture Development, a Master of Science in Agriculture Education, and a Doctor of Philosophy in Educational Administration from Texas A&M University. He also holds an Emergency Medical Technician Certificate from the School of EMS in Tyler.
