Governor Greg Abbott has appointed D. Bailey Wynne and Kathey Comer to the Texas Council on Alzheimer’s Disease and Related Disorders. Their terms will run until August 31, 2031. The council is responsible for coordinating state services for people with Alzheimer’s disease and related disorders.
D. Bailey Wynne, from Duncanville, works as a teaching fellow and doctoral student at the University of North Texas in Denton. She is affiliated with the American Pharmacists Association and the Texas Society of Health-System Pharmacists. Wynne also serves on the finance board for Young Life and is a commissioner on the Duncanville Planning and Zoning Board. Her educational background includes a Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy from Creighton University, a Master of Science in Healthcare Administration from The University of Texas at Arlington, and a Master of Arts in Health from Texas Woman’s University.
Kathey Comer, who lives in Tyler, is retired. She was previously the East Texas Regional Director for U.S. Senator John Cornyn and held executive positions with several builders associations in Austin, Dallas, and Tyler. Comer is involved with Catalyst 100, holds certification as a Main Street Director, and participates as a visionary member for the Women’s Fund of Smith County. She is also active with the Junior League of Austin, coordinates volunteer committees for the Texas Book Festival, and serves as secretary on the board of directors for Black Hills Cemetery. Comer earned her Bachelor of Arts in Social Work from Baylor University, advanced degrees in Gerontology and Long-Term Care Administration from UNT, and completed post-graduate work in early childhood education at UT Tyler.
