Governor Greg Abbott has appointed Lindsey Gohlke and reappointed Romey Swanson to serve on the Farm and Ranch Lands Conservation Council. Their terms will last until February 1, 2031. The council provides guidance for the Texas Farm and Ranch Lands Conservation Program (TFRLCP), which includes overseeing program administration and choosing applicants to receive grants. The TFRLCP focuses on conserving working lands important for water resources, wildlife, and agricultural production.
Lindsey Gohlke is a lender at Security Bank of Texas in Oglesby. She is involved with the Texas Bankers Association, Independent Banker Association, St. Paul Lutheran Church, and McLennan County Farm Bureau. Gohlke earned her Bachelor of Science in Ag Communication and Journalism from Texas A&M University.
Romey Swanson serves as executive director of Devils River Conservancy in Austin. He holds leadership roles as president of both the Texas Ornithological Society and the Texas Herpetological Society, is past president of the Texas Chapter of The Wildlife Society, and sits on the board for the Texas Land Trust Council. Swanson completed his Bachelor of Science in Wildlife Biology and Master of Science in Wildlife Ecology at Texas State University.
