Governor Greg Abbott has appointed Joshlin “Josh” Lewis and Michael Lucci to the Texas Advisory Committee on Geopolitical Conflict. Their terms will last until September 1, 2027. The committee is tasked with developing security strategies and policies for the state before any geopolitical conflict occurs. It also gathers and prepares information to help improve Texas’ command-and-control functions if a conflict arises.
Lewis, from Ovilla, serves as senior director of network quality at Optimum and has been in the United States Air Force since 1999. He is affiliated with several organizations, including the National Guard Association of Texas, National Guard Association of the United States, and the International Information System Security Certification Consortium. He volunteers at Midlothian Bible Church as a small group leader. Lewis holds a Bachelor of Science in Psychology from Lamar University, an MBA from Webster University, and a National Security Management Certification from Syracuse University.
Lucci, who lives in Leander, is CEO of State Armor Research and State Armor Action. He previously chaired the board for Chicago Virtual Charter School. Lucci earned his Bachelor of Arts in Honors Philosophy from the University of Notre Dame.
