Governor Greg Abbott has announced the appointment of Chris Moose and the reappointment of Jamie Becker, Ph.D., and Sangeeta Singg, Ph.D., to the Texas State Board of Examiners of Psychologists. Their terms will last until October 31, 2031.
Chris Moose is based in Austin and currently serves as vice president of life sciences at Wheel. His previous roles include partner in healthcare and life sciences at IBM and consultant at Price Waterhouse Coopers. He has also chaired the board for Any Baby Can and served on the Austin Healthcare Council board. Moose holds a Bachelor of Business Administration in Management Information from The University of Texas at Austin and an MBA in Marketing from the University of Georgia.
Jamie Becker, Ph.D., from Lewisville, is director of Psychiatry at Children’s Health Children’s Medical Center and a Clinical Professor at UT Southwestern Medical Center. She is board certified in child and adolescent psychology. Her responsibilities include oversight of emergency crisis mental health services, consultation/liaison psychiatry and psychology, as well as play therapy services at Children’s Health. Becker is affiliated with several professional organizations including the Society of Pediatric Psychology, Society of Clinical Child and Adolescent Psychology, Texas Psychological Association, Dallas Psychological Association, and the Children’s Hospital Association. She earned her Bachelor of Science in Psychology from The George Washington University, a Master’s degree and Doctorate in Psychology from Rosalind Franklin University of Medicine and Science, followed by a postdoctoral fellowship at Nationwide Children’s Hospital.
Sangeeta Singg, Ph.D., from San Angelo is a professor at Angelo State University (ASU), where she led the Graduate Counseling Psychology Program for nearly thirty years. She has received multiple awards such as ASU President’s Award for Excellence in Leadership and Service; Gary and Pat Rodgers Distinguished Faculty Award; ASU Alumni Association’s Distinguished Faculty Achievement Award; Three Rivers Counseling Association’s Jimmy Alvarez Outstanding Contribution to the Counseling Profession Award; Ten-Year Meritorious Service Award; and Outstanding Leadership in Psychology Award from the Psychological Association of Greater West Texas. Singg has volunteered with organizations including American Heart Association Tom Green County, MHMR Concho Valley, and Mosaic. Her academic background includes a Bachelor’s degree from Punjab University in Sociology, English, and Political Science; a Master’s degree in Sociology from Mississippi State University; along with both Master’s degree and Doctorate in Psychology from Texas A&M University – Commerce.
