Governor Greg Abbott has appointed Randall Wright to the Texas Pharmaceutical Initiative Governing Board. Wright’s term will last until February 1, 2029. The board is responsible for creating a business plan to supply affordable drugs and medical supplies to public employees.
Randall Wright, who lives in Houston, retired after working for 46 years in healthcare. He was previously executive vice president and chief operating officer at Texas Children’s Hospital and also served as senior vice president at Houston Methodist Hospital. Wright has been involved with the American College of Healthcare Executives and the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants. He currently serves on the Board of Visitors for MD Anderson Cancer Center, is a board member and vice chairman of the Eastern Illinois University Foundation, and volunteers with Baker Ripley Houston.
Wright holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Physics from Eastern Illinois University and an MBA from Southern Illinois University.
