Governor Greg Abbott has appointed Paloma Ahmadi to the Texas Southern University Board of Regents. Her term will run until February 1, 2029.

Ahmadi is currently the general counsel at Athena and serves as an advisor to WorkWhile. She has previously held senior legal roles at Brex Inc., Haynes and Boone LLP, and Major League Baseball. Her legal experience also includes work at Ahmad Zavitsanos Anaipakos and Kirkland Ellis LLP.

She is a member of the State Bar of Texas and the New York State Bar Association, and she holds inactive membership in the Washington D.C. Bar. Ahmadi is also involved with the Texas Workforce Investment Council and was formerly on the board of Dress for Success San Antonio.

Ahmadi earned her Bachelor of Arts from Harvard College and her Juris Doctor from Harvard Law School.
