Governor Greg Abbott has appointed Judy Parker as Chief Justice of the Seventh Court of Appeals, with her term set to expire on December 31, 2026.
Parker, who is from Lubbock, currently serves as Place 2 Justice on the Seventh Court of Appeals. She is a founding member and judicial master of the Texas Tech University School of Law American Inn of Court and serves as a director for the Panhandle Family Law Association. Her professional memberships include the State Bar of Texas, Lubbock Area Bar Association, The Federalist Society, and Amarillo Area Bar Association. In addition to her legal work, Parker is a trustee for The CH Foundation, a sustaining member of the Junior League of Lubbock, and a member at First Baptist Church in Lubbock. She holds a Bachelor of Arts in English and Government from Angelo State University and earned her Juris Doctor from Texas Tech University School of Law.
