Governor Greg Abbott has announced that the next Governor’s Small Business Summit will take place in Eagle Pass on Thursday, September 11. The event is part of a series held throughout the year in various regions across Texas, aiming to support small business owners and aspiring entrepreneurs by connecting them with resources and information necessary for starting, strengthening, and growing their businesses.

“Small businesses are the driving force behind Texas’ thriving economy,” said Governor Abbott. “With more than 3.5 million small businesses across Texas, employing nearly half of all working Texans, our state continues to lead in job creation and business expansion. I invite all small business owners and entrepreneurs to attend this Governor’s Small Business Summit or one in their region. Together, we will ensure that our small business community continues to thrive as we build a stronger, more prosperous Texas for generations to come.”

The Eagle Pass summit will gather local, state, and federal resource partners to provide guidance on important business topics. Attendees will have opportunities to network with other business owners and hear from experts who will offer practical advice on various issues relevant to small businesses.

The summit is scheduled for Thursday, September 11, 2025, from 9:00 AM to 2:00 PM at the International Center for Trade located at 3295 Bob Rogers Dr., Eagle Pass, TX 78852. Panel sessions will cover subjects such as scaling or selling a business, financing strategies, marketing insights, and foundational business knowledge. Joe Esparza, Commissioner Representing Employers at the Texas Workforce Commission, is listed as a featured speaker.

Registration costs $20 and includes access to all sessions, resource providers, lunch, and complimentary headshots. Additional information and registration details can be found at gov.texas.gov/events.

Future summits are also planned in Carthage on September 25; Denton on October 23 (with a focus on women); and Belton on November 13 (with a focus on veterans). The Governor’s Texas Economic Development & Tourism Office and Office of Small Business Assistance continue to host webinars offering information about resources available for small businesses in Texas. Recordings of past webinars are accessible online at gov.texas.gov/business/page/small-business-webinars.
