Actress and producer Ego Nwodim’s podcast “Thanks Dad” will join iHeartMedia and Will Ferrell’s Big Money Players Network (BMP), with the second season launching on October 28, 2025. The new season will feature guests such as Heidi Gardner, Tamron Hall, and Miguel. Listeners can access the trailer for the upcoming season now.
In each episode of “Thanks Dad,” Nwodim invites a guest to discuss personal stories, family relationships, and identity. The first season included appearances by Andy Cohen, Randall Park, Kyle Mooney, and Bill Burr. It received the 2025 Ambie Award for Best Interview Podcast.
“I’m so thrilled to be partnering with iHeartPodcasts, Will Ferrell and Big Money Players for season two of ‘Thanks Dad,’” said Nwodim. “This season, I’m speaking with a broader range of guests, while staying true to the heart of the podcast—to connect, inspire and bring some joy.”
The premiere episode of season two will feature Heidi Gardner discussing topics such as her mother’s former partners and experiences at Saturday Night Live. New episodes will be released weekly on Tuesdays through the iHeartRadio app and other podcast platforms. Video versions will also be available on YouTube.
Nwodim is also making her Off-Broadway debut this fall at Lincoln Center in a one-woman comedy show as part of “The Comedy Series.” During her seven years on Saturday Night Live, she became known for characters like “Miss Eggy” and “Lisa from Temecula,” earning NAACP nominations in both 2024 and 2025. She recently completed filming Matt Spicer’s Netflix comedy “Little Brother,” which stars John Cena and Eric Andre.
Variety recently recognized Nwodim in its New York Women’s Impact Report for her contributions across comedy, television, and media.
Big Money Players Network was founded by Will Ferrell and iHeartMedia as a platform for comedy podcasts featuring various formats. The network includes shows such as “The Ron Burgundy Podcast,” “Las Culturistas with Matt Rogers and Bowen Yang,” “My Momma Told Me,” “Straightiolab with George Civeris and Sam Taggart,” “Bombing with Eric Andre,” and “MESS with Sydnee Washington and Marie Faustin.” All BMP podcasts are executive produced by Will Ferrell and iHeartMedia.
