Effective November 16, 2025, the Department of Savings and Mortgage Lending will implement changes to Section 55.110 of Title 7 in the Texas Administrative Code. These amendments relate to licensing requirements for military service members, veterans, and their spouses who are seeking to become Residential Mortgage Loan Originators (RMLOs) in Texas.

The department announced that the revised rule will be available on the Texas Secretary of State website starting November 16. Additionally, details about the adopted amendments were published in the Texas Register on November 7, 2025.

The updated regulations are designed to clarify or modify how licensing is handled for individuals with military backgrounds or connections.
