DC Comics has announced a partnership with Guide Dogs of America | Tender Loving Canines (GDA | TLC), the charitable organization supported by the International Association of Machinists and Aerospace Workers (IAM Union). The collaboration aims to highlight the impact of trained service dogs on individuals who are blind or visually impaired, veterans with PTSD or traumatic brain injuries, children with autism, and public institutions.

This initiative follows a previous joint effort at San Diego Comic-Con. As part of the new partnership, DC is sponsoring a litter of puppies that will be named after well-known DC characters. The names include Krypto, Clark, Lois, Kara, and Lobo. According to the announcement, “Krypto – Inspired by Superman’s loyal Superdog, where good dogs and great heroes meet; Clark – Mild-mannered, kind-hearted, and guided by strong morals; Lois – Smart, fearless, and always determined; Kara – Powerful, courageous, and learning to harness incredible abilities; Lobo – Bold, fearless, and unforgettable.”

After completing initial training in puppy pre-kindergarten programs, these dogs will be placed with volunteer puppy raisers. They will continue their development before eventually being matched with people who require service dog support.

Supporters can follow updates on the progress of these puppies through various events and social media channels throughout the year. There will also be opportunities for fans to meet the puppies at this summer’s San Diego Comic-Con event.
