CPS Energy has announced that it is accepting applications for an at-large position on its Community Input Committee (CIC). The application window is open until December 19, 2025, and interested individuals can apply by visiting cpsenergy.com/CICApplication.

The CIC serves as a platform for the San Antonio community to share ideas and concerns with CPS Energy’s Board of Trustees and management. It provides input on strategic objectives, key initiatives, and other business activities. The committee holds public meetings to promote community participation in utility-related matters. Members may serve up to three two-year terms, totaling six years.

Applicants must live within CPS Energy’s service territory and be residential customers of the utility. After the application period ends, current CIC members will review all submissions and select a candidate according to established procedures. The chosen applicant will then be presented to the CPS Energy Board of Trustees for final approval in early 2026.

The CIC contributes community-focused insight on important initiatives at the request of the Board of Trustees. Members participate in three working groups: Power & Technology, Finance & Business, and Customer Relations & Communications.

CPS Energy encourages eligible residents to apply for this role, which allows direct involvement in shaping the future of local energy systems and supporting efforts related to reliability, affordability, and customer experience across its service area.

Founded in 1860, CPS Energy is recognized as the largest public power, natural gas, and electric company in the United States. It provides services to more than 970,000 electric customers and 390,000 natural gas customers throughout San Antonio and parts of seven nearby counties. According to CPS Energy’s data since 1942, it has generated $10.1 billion in revenue for the City of San Antonio while maintaining some of the lowest combined energy bills among large U.S. cities.
