The U.S. Census Bureau has announced new data-sharing agreements with Brigham Young University-Idaho and the University of North Carolina System to expand its Post-Secondary Employment Outcomes (PSEO) experimental data product. The PSEO provides information about the earnings and employment outcomes of college and university graduates, broken down by degree level, major, institution, and state.
With these partnerships, data from 17 additional post-secondary institutions will be included in the PSEO dataset. This expansion brings total coverage to 952 institutions, which represents approximately 35% of all college graduates in the United States.
The PSEO is developed through collaboration between universities, university systems, state education departments, state labor market information offices, and the Census Bureau. The outcomes are made available by linking graduate transcript records to Longitudinal Employer-Household Dynamics data. Users can access this information using the PSEO Explorer tool, as raw files, or through the Census API.
