Library workers at the Baltimore County Public Library, represented by IAM Local 4538, have regained their part-time positions after a collective effort. The union highlighted that having a contract provided essential protection and gave workers a platform to voice their concerns.

According to the union, “It’s protection. It’s a voice. It’s what gave them the power to fight and successfully get their jobs back.” The outcome was achieved through organizing, speaking up, and mutual support among members.

The union also emphasized that this result serves as an example for other workers about the importance of standing together to defend jobs and workplace rights. “This victory is a reminder to working people everywhere: when workers stand together, they can defend their livelihoods, protect their futures, and win the dignity and respect they deserve,” IAM Local 4538 stated.
