The Alamo Colleges District has received the Great Place To Work Certification for 2025, marking the second consecutive year it has earned this recognition. The certification is based on employee feedback regarding their experiences at the district.

This year, 72% of employees indicated that the Alamo Colleges District is a great place to work, which is 15% higher than the average workplace in the United States.

Dr. Mike Flores, Chancellor of the Alamo Colleges District, commented on the achievement: “We are deeply honored and excited to be named a Great Place to Work for the second year in a row. This outstanding achievement reflects the dedication and spirit that define our Alamo family, and our collective commitment to a workplace where every employee feels valued, heard, and empowered to excel.” He added, “Our incredible faculty and staff make our mission possible each and every day as we pursue our moonshot of ending poverty through education and training.”

Sarah Lewis-Kulin, Vice President of Global Recognition at Great Place To Work, also acknowledged the district’s accomplishment: “Great Place To Work Certification is a highly coveted accomplishment that requires consistent and intentional dedication to the overall employee experience. By successfully earning this recognition, it is clear that the Alamo Colleges District stands out as one of the top workplaces, providing a great environment where employees can thrive.”

The certification supports one of the main priorities outlined in AlamoFORWARD, which is part of the district’s strategic plan focused on talent development. In support of these efforts over the past year, the Board of Trustees approved a $20 million investment aimed at enhancing talent strategies.

Research from Great Place To Work indicates that certified organizations tend to offer better work experiences for job seekers. Employees at these organizations are more likely to look forward to work, feel they are paid fairly, and have opportunities for advancement.
